Battles

The battle system is where Loosh Lurkers gets competitive. Fight other Lurkers to steal their points and climb the leaderboard.

Season 1: Free Battles

During Season 1, all battles are completely FREE. There are no entry fees or wagers, just a 15-minute cooldown between fights. Jump in and battle as much as you want!

Future seasons will introduce entry fees, wager modes, and more complex battle options. See Coming in Future Seasons below.

How Battles Work

Battles are PvP (player vs player) combat where you attack another Lurker to steal their points.

Battle Requirements

Before you can battle, you must meet these requirements:

If your hunger drops below 25%, you cannot initiate battles. Feed your Lurker first!

Battle Flow

Battles follow a three-phase process:

Phase 1: Confirmation Screen

  1. Browse available opponents
  2. View matchup preview (your power vs. theirs)
  3. See estimated win chance
  4. Click "Battle" to proceed

Phase 2: Authentication & Animation

  1. Sign the battle transaction with your wallet
  2. Battle animation plays
  3. Server calculates outcome

Phase 3: Results

  1. See win/loss result
  2. View points transferred
  3. Battle cooldown begins (15 minutes)

Battle Mechanics

Win Chance Calculation

Your win chance is determined by the power difference between you and your opponent:

Win Chance = 50 + (Your Power - Opponent Power)

The result is clamped between 20% and 80%, meaning:

  • You always have at least a 20% chance to win (even against much stronger opponents)
  • You can never have more than 80% win chance (even against much weaker opponents)

Power Calculation

Power = (Hunger + Happiness + Energy) / 3

Example:

  • Your stats: 100/80/90 = Power 90
  • Opponent: 60/40/50 = Power 50
  • Win chance: 50 + (90 - 50) = 90%, clamped to 80%

Points Transfer

When you win a battle:

  • You steal 15-50 points from your opponent (random within range)
  • Points are transferred, not created
  • Your opponent loses the same amount you gain

When you lose:

  • Your opponent steals 15-50 points from you

Death Check

Both pets are checked for death before battle:

  • If your pet has 0% hunger, you die and the battle is cancelled
  • If opponent has 0% hunger, opponent dies and the battle is cancelled
  • This ensures fair fights (no attacking dead pets)

Battle Cooldown

After each battle, you enter a 15-minute cooldown:

  • Timer shown in the UI
  • Server validates cooldown (cannot be bypassed)
  • Applies to all battles (win or lose)

Finding Opponents

The game shows you 5 random opponents to choose from:

  • Opponents are other active players with pets
  • You can see their pet name, points, and power
  • Refresh to get new opponents
  • Choose strategically based on power matchups

Leaderboard

The leaderboard shows the top 20 players ranked by total points.

Battle Strategy

Before Battle

  • Max your stats. Feed, play, and rest before important fights.
  • Check your hunger. Must be above 25%.
  • Scout opponents. Look for lower-power targets.
  • Time it right. Battle when your stats are fresh.

After Battle

Win or lose:

  1. Check if you need to feed
  2. Wait for 15-minute cooldown
  3. Restore stats if depleted
  4. Battle again

Anti-Cheat

All battle logic runs server-side:

  • Win chance calculated on server
  • Point transfer processed on server
  • Cooldowns enforced server-side
  • No client-side manipulation possible

Battle Logs

All battles are recorded in your Battle Log:

  • Date and time
  • Opponent name
  • Win/loss result
  • Points gained or lost

View your last 50 battles to track your performance.

Coming in Future Seasons

Season 1 battles are free, but future seasons will expand the battle system with new modes and mechanics.

Future battles may require an entry fee in $LOOSH to participate:

Wager Mode

A new Wager Mode will let players bet $LOOSH against each other:

  • Both players put up a wager amount
  • Winner takes the entire pot
  • Higher risk, higher reward
  • Optional. You can still do standard battles.

Planned for future seasons:

  • Tournament Battles: Bracket-style competitions with prize pools
  • Team Battles: Guild vs guild combat
  • Seasonal Championships: End-of-season competitive events
